PRESS BRIEFING ON STATE OF THE NATION AND NAPS DEMAND
PROTOCOLS
On behalf of the second largest students organ in Africa, I greet everyone present and welcome you to this press briefing activity today towards the reopening of Nigerian educational campuses. Here's a message of Hope And Prosperity ahead.
It's no more a news a news that a dreadly dangerous virus hit the whole planet of the world as a Public Health emergency with numerous numbers of positive cases and deaths reported. Our heart is with the infected ones, we wish them quick recovery while we wished the dead ones eternal rest.
It's with a gladden heart and solidarity in National Development I commend the actions and efforts of the Federal Government so far; The Presidential Task Force on COVID- 19, Federal Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and every other key stakeholders towards the National development sustainability and curbing the further spread of Coronavirus on Nigeria.
The leadership of NAPS, Consolidation Era administration led by Comrade Olalere Benedict Adetunji has been working tirelessly with the stakeholders, carefully alongside with the frontiers and volunteers towards getting rid of this Public health crises, restore the drown economy value and Re - opening of the educational campuses of the Nation, currently under lock and key due to the National lockdown declared by the Federal Government in stopping the spread of this deadly virus.
Several press statements has been done in adressing the polytechnic students, time to time on ways to support the Government in curbing the spread of this infection and as well the Government towards protecting the interest of our students community, during and after the Lockdown activities.
Recently, I issued another press statement calling on the Ministry of Education and every concerned Authorities on Re - Opening Nigerian Campuses with a stipulated date given as deadline since the ban on the Public Gathering and religious activities has been carefully lifted. To the Glory of God, it yielded a positive result as the government now reacts and there has now been a guideline for the resumption of our student, as released by the Federal Government through the Ministry of Education. It's a victory for Aluta and Nigerian students community.
However, we commend the Government for the listening hear given towards granting our request in due time, We hereby call on every concerned authority to consider giving a precise time for resumption of academic activities on our campuses and full or partial commencement of the suspended educational activities.
The leadership of NAPS is now calling on the Federal Government in every neccesary capacities to Give an precise details of resumption date to the Nigerian students, Public gatherings of any kind cannot be holding where educational activities is on lockdown.
Education remains the future of every nation's growth and development, the concerned Government stakeholders are expected to act quick with an immediate effect with regards to the request of the National leadership of NAPS.
All we demand for is Giving a precise and specific date of Resumption of the suspended academic and Educational activities on Nigeria institution campuses with provision of strict public health management measures to prevent the further spread on our campuses community.
Nigerian students and Polytechnic students Community in particular will continue to support every Government giving a listening hears to her needs and demands of her community making of of the very largest constituency in the Nation.
