PERMSITE PROTEST OVER 3WEEKS OF BLACK OUT.

The students of Federal polytechnic Oko, who are residents living, at lodges in permsite areas of the polytechnic, since yesterday have been protesting and blocking the major roads to the entrance of the school permsite buildings.

The reason for their protest is, due to lack of power supply for the past 3weeks and more. According to one of the protesters, their reason for protesting to the school management/ SUG and not their land lords is because the issue was caused by a staff of the school.

The protester said that one of the department bus, FOOD SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY, was used by one of the school staff to accidentally hit down the major pole supplying electricity to the whole community.

And since then the power holding company have not done anything to resolve the issue. Since it wasn't caused by the students, they refused to pay for the repair, and the only alternative is to protest to the school management/SUG.

Let's not forget that the students are currently taking their exams and this will be a great set back.
