It was a sad day in Anambra state as properties worth million's of naira were destroyed by fire in Chemical market, Onitsha a commercial city in the state.
The incident which took place on Tuesday afternoon also lead to the untimely death of four persons.
Okopolygistv report further gathered that twelve persons who are victim of the fire outbreak are currently receiving medical attention at the hospital.
Reacting to this development, a trader Mr. Uchenna Nweke said the cause of the fire incident is yet to be ascertain. He explains that victims of the fire incident was as a result of stampede recorded during the fire outbreak.
Uchenna further reveal that money worth 850 millions were lost to the fire outbreak. He appeal to relevant government authority and well meaning individuals in the country to alleviate the pains of traders at the market.
On his part, the spoke person for Anambra State Police command; DSP Tochukwu Ikenga said the number of casualty is yet to be ascertain . He however said the situation has been brought under control.
It will interest you to know that the Chairman of Onitsha South Local Government's Area, Mr. Emeka Orji, the Nigeria fire service and the police played a major role to control the fire outbreak.
