ASUPOKO Embarks on Two-Week Warning Strike

ASUPOKO Joins Two-Week Warning Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic Oko chapter, has joined the two-week warning strike declared by the ASUP National Executive Council. The strike took effect from December 2, 2024, and members are expected to comply.

This decision was made public by Nwafor Ikechukwu, the Publicity Secretary of ASUPOKO. The strike is likely to disrupt academic activities at the institution, with lectures and other academic-related activities suspended for the duration of the strike.

It's worth noting that ASUP has been vocal about its demands, including issues related to polytechnic education in Nigeria ¹. The union has accused high-ranking officials of plotting to destroy polytechnic education and has demanded the suspension of new schemes.

The strike is expected to disrupt academic activities at the institution, with lectures and other academic-related activities suspended for the duration of the strike.

Students and members of the polytechnic community are advised to stay tuned for updates on the strike and any subsequent developments.
